Welcia adopts 13,000 Units of TMNs New Payment Terminal “UT-X20”

Transaction Media Networks, Inc. (TMN) is pleased to announce that its new payment terminal UT-X20 has been adopted for the first time by Welcia Holdings Co., Ltd. (Welcia Group)’s pharmacies. Over 12,000 out of 13,000 units expected to be adopted have already been introduced in Welcia’s pharmacies nationwide.

Responding to both Hardware and Software Payment Needs

Since 2015, TMN has been providing e-cash payment service to the Welcia Group, and has deepened its relationship with the Welcia Group through various initiatives to respond to new needs related to the increasing amount electronic payments, and to improve on inconveniences.

TMN’s UT-X20 is not only able to support credit card, e-cash, common points and other forms of electronic payments, but also supports both non-integrated and integrated^*1 payment methods, allows simple operation to accept strip, PIN and contactless credit cards by a single button, and connects easily to POS, making it an all payment compatible payment terminal with functions for all types of installation environments. The new payment terminal has obtained P2PE^*2 certification for credit card data non-retention, which significantly reduces the additional requirements handled by credit card-handling businesses.

These functions and the performance of the UT-X20, as well as TMN’s deep understanding of Welcia Group’s payment environment and TMN’s solutions were highly praised, leading to the adoption.
