Transaction Media Networks, Inc. (TMN) is pleased to announce that Yamanaka Co., Ltd. (Yamanaka), operator of Supermarket Yamanaka chain in Aichi Prefecture, has adopted and began use of TMN’s QR/barcode payment service.
Yamanaka is a long-established supermarket that has been in business for more than 100 years and has 60 stores mainly in Aichi Prefecture. In recent times, competition is intensifying in the Tokai region due to the expansion of supermarket chains based in other regions, in addition to the declining and aging population. Yamanaka has established its uniqueness with its credibility and name recognition in the local area, as well as its strengths in fresh food. TMN believes that the introduction of QR/barcode payment service will contribute to the further expansion of Yamanaka's customer base by attracting younger shoppers.
The domestic electronic payment market is filled by various payment methods and payment brands, and it is important for retailers to be able to respond flexibly to changes in the market in the future.
