Demand Expected due to the Trend toward Higher Functionality of Payment Terminals

The percentage of electronic payments in Japan has reached about 40%, and payment terminals have now become indispensable for store operations. There is especially a growing demand for high-performance payment terminals that can perform multiple operations with a single device, against the backdrop of labor shortages and the trend towards digital transformation.

The current UT-P10 high-performance payment terminal was the top-selling TMN product in the last fiscal year, nearly tripling year-on-year. Anticipating that the trend of demand for high-performance payment terminals will continue in the future, TMN has decided to launch the UT-P11, a successor to the UT-P10 with further improved functionality.

The current UT-P10 can handle multiple payments such as credit, e-cash, QR/, and barcode payments. Since it is Android ™ -based, it can expand various functions by adding apps and has a track record of installing both TMN's standard POS app and apps prepared by merchants. The payment terminal can manage sales and inventory with a single payment terminal while being mobile and easy to carry, and has been used in a variety of situations, including restaurants and retail stores that perform table checkouts, baseball stadiums , and ticket sales on railway trains.

The new UT-P11 handset retains all the functions of the current UT-P10, but the most important feature is that the file loading speed has doubled, and the processing capacity has greatly improved. The larger screen size compared to the current model improves operability for various applications such as payment and POS, making it even easier to use in various scenes such as outdoors.

Promoting Digital Transformation for Merchants through Payment Solutions

With the increase in the electronic payment percentage in Japan, businesses are being forced to bear various burdens such as an increase in electronic payment fees and accommodating to various payment methods. TMN aims to contribute to improving the profitability of businesses with the introduction of UT-P11, by providing new added values to electronic payments such as improving operational efficiency and contributing to marketing through data utilization.

TMN will continue to contribute to the creation of a safe and secure consumer environment by providing solutions that lead to the resolution of various issues for merchants centered on payments.
