H2O Retailing Corp.'s e-cash “litta” added to TMN’s Serviceable Brands as a Cloud-based Payment Service

Transaction Media Networks, Inc. (TMN) is pleased to announce the addition of litta, a prepaid e-cash issued by H2O Retailing Corp.’s Persona Co., Ltd (Persona), to TMN’s cloud-based payment gateway service.
TMN is the first company in Japan to provide litta’s payment gateway service in cloud (thin client) method.

Background and Purpose

TMN became the first company in Japan to commercialize a cloud-based e-cash payment service. Since then, it has supported a wide range of electronic payment methods demanded by the market, such as credit and QR/Bar codes. litta's payment gateway service has been provided in a conventional rich client method, but TMN will be the first in Japan to provide a cloud-based (thin client) payment gateway service to litta.
Transitioning to a cloud-based computing will simplify consolidation of multiple payment methods into a single payment terminal, raise store POS operations efficiency and allow shoppers and store staff to only use a single terminal, therefore improving shopping experiences.

With the introduction of litta, this brings the total number of TMN’s serviceable brands to 46.
In addition, TMN will provide a total of 14 transportation-based general-purpose e-cash brands through CAFIS PastelPort®, an electronic payment ASP service for POS provided by NTT DATA Japan Corporation (NTT DATA), to Hankyu Department Stores, Hanshin Department Stores, and other H2O Retailing Corp. stores in a phased manner.
