TMN's Mobile Payment Terminal UT-P10 adopted by Sanyo Shinkansen's In-Car Wagon Service

Transaction Media Networks, Inc. (TMN) and JR West Japan Food Service Net Company (JR West Japan Food Service Net) are pleased to announce that TMN's payment terminal UT-P10 and its payment service have been adopted for JR West Food Service Net’s in-car sales on the Sanyo Shinkansen.

Nine public transportation e-cash (ICOCA, Suica, PASMO, Kitaca, TOICA, manaca, SUGOCA, nimoca, Hayakaken) are available to be used for payment on Sanyo Shinkansen’s Nozomi and Hikari trains’ Green Class through TMN's payment gateway service, beginning May 22, 2024.

Background to the Adoption

TMN has expanded its payment services to include supermarkets, drugstores, convenience stores, and other electronic payment services in daily life.
To further expand the business, TMN has been steadily accumulating a track record in product sales and operations in the transportation field such as public buses and railways.
Compared to the rich-client payment service*1 that has been adopted in the past, TMN's cloud-based payment service*2 has advantages such as reduced installation costs, customizability based on deployment environment, and data availability, leading to solving various problems in electronic payment environments.
TMN believes that its abundant implementation experience and the superiority of its services were highly evaluated, which led to the adoption.
TMN will continue to expand the scope of payment services to further spread electronic payments and contribute to the efficiency of various payment-based operations.

A Mobile Terminal that completes POS, Payment, Receipt Printing, and Inventory Management

TMN's UT-P10 payment terminal is a mobile payment terminal that combines a receipt printer. In addition to being able to handle multiple payments with a single device, it is also Android™-based, making it easy to customize according to the usage environment. The UT-P10 terminal that is to be introduced for this adoption is equipped with a dedicated POS app for in-car sales, and it is possible to read product barcodes from the POS app through the camera installed on the UT-P10 as standard.
In addition, the UT-P10 can process from payment to inventory management within the POS app with a single unit, contributing to saving space around the wagon, operability, and improving operational efficiency, as inventory management is especially important for in-car sales that needs to meet various demands within the limited space of the wagon.

NCS&A Co., Ltd. took charge of the design and development of systems related to in-car sales operations during the overall development.
