TMN's Store Business App for Payment Terminals Available from tance mall

Promoting store Digital Transformation Support in Collaboration with JCB Group;
Single Payment Terminal Supporting Store Operation with Staff Shortages

Transaction Media Networks, Inc. (TMN), and tance Inc. (tance) are pleased to announce that tance mall, tance’s store service platform, has begun supporting the applications for TMN's payment terminal UT-P10.
The initial release consists of two apps: yoboka, a call notification service, and QR Order, a store self-ordering service. Further app releases will be scheduled in the future.

Background and Purpose

TMN and three JCB Group companies (tance, Japan Card Network Co., Ltd., and JMS Co., Ltd.) began collaborating in June 2023 to support storefront digital transformation.

Using TMN's cashless payment platform service nextore and tance's store service platform tance mall as solutions, TMN plans to support the promotion of electronic payments and digital transformation using JCB Group's sales network, which boasts one of the largest of its kind in Japan.

Furthermore, these services are provided through TMN's UT-P10 payment terminal. The introduction of a single payment terminal will enable storefronts to efficiently perform electronic payments and various store operations.

Many stores use a variety of business apps for customer management, work attendance management, and inventory management. However such operation requires stores to prepare multiple devices such as app-only terminals, PCs, tablets, and smartphones, thus complicating operations and cluttering space with equipment installations. By consolidating these management apps into a single payment terminal, TMN believes that it will be possible to improve operational efficiency, save space, and centrally manage data, thereby improving customer experience.

7,000 units of the UT-P10 have already been delivered since the start of the collaboration between TMN and the JCB Group, and the number is gradually expanding. With the release of the UT-P10-compatible app from tance mall, the apps can now be downloaded to approximately 7,000 UT-P10 devices.

TMN will continue to enhance the apps and understand the needs of storefronts, improve the convenience and operational efficiency of storefronts, support digital transformation to solve storefront issues due to labor shortages, and create a better consumer environment.

tance mall is a service platform that allows the user to utilize services that benefit store management on devices based on usage situations. Store owners and managers will be able to use various services on payment terminals and other devices through tance mall. It is expected to solve the problems of attracting customers and improving convenience that stores face and improve store operations efficiency.

Overview of Multi-Payment Terminal UT-P10

UT-P10 payment terminal, which is compatible with TMN's nextore platform service, is a multi-payment terminal that supports various electronic payments such as credit cards, e-cash, QR and barcode payments*, and can add various business applications aside from payment-related tasks.
*Current iteration only supports credit card payments, with further expansion planned in the future

nextore is a platform service centered on payment that connects people, towns, and jobs with the mission of creating social value.
Financial institutions and payment service providers can provide nextore service to small and medium-sized businesses such as retail stores, restaurants, and clinics, as well as service providers for small and medium-sized businesses. By returning information such as payments, it is possible to support digitalization, such as consulting and provision of new services.
Using the app distribution function of the nextore, it is possible to distribute tance mall-compatible apps to the UT-P10 payment terminal.

Customers do not have to wait in the store, and they can know when to pick up products in real time, allowing them to wait at home or in the vicinity. The app can be used in a variety of industries and operations and is ideal for calling operation once the product is ready.

Overview of QR Order app

QR Order is a self-order service app that creates new values for ordering operation under the concept of “One more yen for profit” and “One more smile from customers”. service that creates new value for orders based on the concept. Customers can use their own smartphones by scanning the QR code and easily place an order at location. QR Order leads to less stress and complaints for both customers and employees, in addition to reducing labor costs and improving the table turnover rate.
