Transaction Media Networks Inc. (TMN) and Global Communication Planning Co., Ltd. (G.C Planning) have entered a capital and business alliance with the aim of strengthening their credit gateway service businesses.
Background
TMN is the first company in Japan to commercialize its cloud-based electronic payment service and has since grown to become one of the largest payment gateways in Japan, supporting all types of electronic payments from credit cards to QR/Barcode payments.
TMN have initially gained market share in e-cash, a business area with high barriers to entry. However, to pursue further growth in the electronic payment business domain in the future, TMN aims to expand its business in the credit card field, which has the largest settlement amount in the electronic payment market. Therefore TMN has entered a capital and business alliance with G.C Planning, which provides credit gateway services.
G.C Planning has been in business for 29 years and has been a development partner since TMN’s founding. Furthermore, G.C Planning is one of the few credit gateway service providers operating in Japan that provides services to large-scale distribution companies, like TMN.TMN believes that it will be able to demonstrate high amount of constructive collaboration with G.C Planning not only as a service provider, but also as an all-in-one service provider from payment terminals to system development.
